This portrait was commissioned as a surprise gift for Renee based individual photos of Renee’s 5 beautiful horses named Sheriff, Ruby, Sailor, Quizzy and Willy, so we decided this type of montage in oil would be the perfect way to have them all together in a painting.
This has been like doing a family portrait. Each face has to be individual and correct to get the character.I am really happy with the way it worked with each horse individually is a separate portrait in itself.
